Compilation of two "books" in one edition

Might have been asked before as it is a common thing,

but I can’t add more “books” when creating an edition, because I own a compilation of Desmond Bagley’s works.

How shall I proceed ? Is there something I missed?

Are you perhaps getting the concept of Book and Edition reversed? A ‘Book’ is the grouping of multiple physical copies of the thing - that physical thing being the Edition. Each Book has multiple Editions. Your collected works tome would be an Edition that represents your specific copy under a Book which would hold all the different printings and translations of that collected version.

I’m trying to get into the habit of writing ‘book’ when I mean the thing we mean as a book when talking casually, and ‘Book’ when I mean the ctlgs.com entity. Likewise ‘edition’ and ‘Edition’.

Oh yeah I get it.

So my collection of works is a new Edition which contains two Books but is actually one book.

I’ll try to submit a new reference and you’ll correct me if I’m wrong.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Well the other way round now I re-read your reply…

Yes. The other way around.

Your collection of works is a new Edition, which contains two works (‘Works’ are not a thing in the new ctlgs) and is contained within one Book.
