On an Edition page edit form, scrolled part way down to the point where you’re at the bottom of, say, a Credit section, and then click the button to add a new set of Credit fields, the browser jumps right to the bottom of the page and I need to scroll back up to find the new blank field I added in order to fill it in.
Same thing happens with the Code section, too, I think, although that’s already near the bottom of the page so it’s not noticeable.
Am I the only one experiencing this? It’s been happening since, I think yesterday. Maybe the day before.
Current browser: Vivaldi 8.1.4087.48, Windows 11. Was happening yesterday when I was still using Edge (whatever the latest version of that is).
After clicking a button to add a new field, the window should be scrolled so that the new item is in view, AND the new item should be given focus so that keyboard input can start.
Neither of which is happening currently for me.
I also tend to use Edge - but given almost all browsers are based on Chromium, I anticipate similar cross-browser behaviour.
ASIDE: Fast reliable data entry should lean into keyboard input. There are several places where this doesn’t work well, and I am forced to select things using the mouse. We’ll need to think about accessibility at some point.
Ok, I made an update to this. So the Add Credit button should leave the page at the same spot. And it should be a bit faster now as well. Let me know if you notice any problems with this.
