Is there a way to hotlink an Edition/Book/etc in the Notes section of an Edition? Something like discogs’ [r] [r=] [a] [m] etc link codes? Or at least have the ability to use some markup in there that allows a link within the site?

Standard HTML works.

I used some links in the contents to [Major British Writers: Shorter Edition - Books - ctlgs](https://ctlgs.org/c/books/edition/821810/major-british-writers-shorter-edition/).

So it does. Just not in the preview. That’s what threw me. Cheers.

@Burnett

Related to this topic, I have noticed that a malformed bit of html in a text field can screw up the rest of the page past where it’s rendered. In my case I accidentally switched my keyboard to insert mode and overwrote a closing quote on an anchor element’s href.

This is annoying, and can be confusing, however it illustrates a more serious flaw in that it opens up an avenue for hackers and other techie ne’er-do-wells to potentially inject dangerous code into a web page and data.

Every input field really needs to be parsed to within an inch of its life to ensure it a) is well-formed, and b) only contains simple markup elements and basic attributes (no styles or js events n that).

@Burnett

Now that html has been blocked (I approve, btw), is there now another more secure way to add simple markup to notes (and profiles, etc), such as bold, italics, bullet/numbered lists, and links within ctlgs? A lot of the Editions I’ve added rely on links to related Editions, and now they’re broken, as are italics.
